The SpaceUp X logo is mainly based the École Polytechnique logo. The X, denomination given at the École Polytechnique since the mid-20th century, comes from the crossed cannons of the original coat of arms and symbol of science education. The arms of the Polytechnic, historic shield where appears the motto of Napoleon “Pour la Patrie, les Sciences et la Gloire” (For the Motherland, Science and Glory), are the symbol of the School’s values and its military dimension. |
| You will also find the SpaceUp X sticker on social networks. This one is base on the UP for SpaceUp and the famous “bicorne“. The bicorne or bicorn (two-cornered/horned or twihorn) is a historical form of hat widely adopted in the 1790s as an item of uniform by European and American military and naval officers. Students at the École Polytechnique wear a bicorne as part of their Grand Uniforme (GU).
